Response Writing Rubric (For Grade 6 Wiki)

The wiki discussions in this course are a key point of interaction with your teacher and fellow classmates. Your participation is essential to the success of this course! In an effort to help you know what is expected, check the Response Writing Rubric below.

Poor (1 pt): This post is irrelevant and adds nothing to the discussion. The writing is off topic.

Needs Improvement (2 pts): This post shows effort to say something relevant, but it doesn't add anything to the discussion. It does not meet minimum requirements (5-6 sentences).

Satisfactory (3 pts): This post answers the question satisfactorily. It has met minimum requirements (5-6 sentences).

Very Good (4 pts): This post is well-written and adds to the discussion. The expressed position is articulated with good support. Demonstrates reflection. It exceeds minimum requirements (5-6+ sentences).

Excellent (5 pts): This post has all the characteristics of a very good entry, but it goes a step further by doing at least one of the following:
• Stimulates the discussion in some way (e.g., asks a good question or raises a new point to consider).
• Demonstrates critical thinking.
• Pulls in outside source material that speaks to the subject.
• Connects the subject to previous content from the class.
